My British Shorthair is technically female, but she grew so magnificently chonky that any tomcat would be envious. She's the original Gray Cat, the muse behind everything you see here.

I discovered that DALL-E 3 could generate purrfectly beautiful British Shorthairs. I created a few custom emojis for Slack, mostly for fun. They went absolutely viral within my team. Then the whole company wanted them. The collection grew from a handful to a full cat-alog of expressions.

I built "The Gray Cat" Slack bot, a chonky AI assistant with a friendly personality and a weakness for cat puns. It started as a fun experiment, but it quickly gained momentum. Over time, it learned new tricks: triggering GitHub workflows, answering knowledge base questions, and still finding time to make the team smile. Today, The Gray Cat isn't just a bot. It's practically a team member.

AI-assisted coding rekindled my passion for software engineering. I could suddenly build so much more while spending so much less time.
